WWDA
Established in 1955 through an amendment to the Constitution of the State of Georgia, the Waycross and Ware County Development Authority serve as the primary economic catalyst for our community. We are a collaborative partnership between the City of Waycross, Ware County, and the state of Georgia uniquely empowered to support industry, commerce, and enhanced vocational training across our region.
Our mission is to build a responsible and prosperous future through business investment, site development, and recognizing and supporting our local natural resources. We offer responsible incentive programs through local, state, and federal resources. Our team is dedicated to helping existing businesses and industries succeed and grow and prosper while welcoming new state-of-the-art businesses of the future.
Governed by an eight-member board of local leaders, we operate with a clear mandate: to ensure that our economic landscape remains competitive, sustainable, and positioned for all current and future opportunities.

DWDA
The DWDA was created by an act of the Georgia Legislature as an entity separate from other local governmental institutions in 1974-75. The DWDA exists for the public good and consists of a board of local business & property owners. "The purpose of the Authority is the development of the downtown Waycross area, which includes but is not limited to renovation and rehabilitation of existing buildings, structures, and improvements located in the Downtown Waycross District. The purpose of the Authority is hereby declared to be an essential and public purpose, promoting the public good and welfare and benefiting the citizens.”
